Launching the CES Mentorship program!

Our Alumni tell us that one of the most important aspects to success as a student is having proper mentoring and guidance. Our students come from poor families, and many of them are the first to go on to higher education. Their parents want them to succeed, but may not know how to help.

So, our Alumni have stepped into this gap through the CES Mentorship Program. This has been developed by Patricia Makori, Principal of the CES School of Continuing Education, supported by Administrative Assistant Sarah Nabongo and Alumni Chair Juma Nyongesa. Each incoming university student is matched with a member of the Alumni, who provides weekly calls and support.

In August 2022, Alumni, Staff and students gathered at the CES offices in Kakamega to launch this program. Sarah and Juma took some video footage of the event. Learn what the event was like, in participants’ own words.
